  • This piece is inspired by the maritime tradition of keeping Cat's aboard sailing and naval vessels! Evidence suggests that Cats were first kept on ships as early as the 8th Century BC by the Egyptians, where they were spread across Mediterranean trading routes! Cat's were kept in active service on Royal Navy ships up until 1975!

Cat's were kept aboard ships to control vermin as well as for companionship!

This Brooch depicts a Cat sailing in his own little ship, telescope in hand and poised for adventure. He also has a little goldfish friend to brave the seas with!

    Brooch measures 7.2cm by 7cm

This Brooch features a variety of handcast swirled and glitter acrylics.
